Crossfield residents receive garbage and recycling services from the following contracted providers:
- BluPlanet is the provider of recycling cart collection services.
- The Waste Transfer Station/Recycling Depot is owned and operated by Environmental 360 Solutions Ltd. and is located at 33 Laut Crescent.
- Empringham Disposal provides waste cart collection services.

Weekly Recycling Cart Collection
Blue carts are collected on Thursdays. Every home is assigned a blue recycling bin and these bins stay with the home. The bin should be placed in its proper location the night before or by 7 a.m. on Thursdays.

The fee for curbside recycling is $20.00 bi-monthly, billed to residents’ bi-monthly utility bills. The fee for commercial recycling is $10.65 bi-monthly.
Weekly Residential Waste Cart Collection
Black bins are used for waste collection. Waste pickup happens town-wide on Wednesdays. Residents are to ensure the bin is placed in its proper location by 7 a.m.
The charge for residential waste pickup is $31.75 bi-monthly, billed to residents’ bi-monthly utility bills.
This charge may be waived for commercial and industrial businesses; however, a copy of a written contract with an alternate service provider must be provided to the Town office.
- Garbage pickup day will be established by the service provider but may be subject to change from time-to-time;
- Garbage is to be placed in plastic garbage bags and placed in black garbage-specific containers;
- No bundle, barrel, bag or container of garbage may exceed the weight of 50 pounds or 22 kilograms;
- Animal excrement must be placed in a separate plastic bag; and,
- Garbage is to be set out at the property line at the rear of the property where back alleys are present and at the front property line where no back alleys are present.

** Weekly garbage pick-up may be waived for commercial and Industrial businesses if the businesses provide to the Town Administration office a copy of their written contract with an alternate service provider confirming garbage pick-up services will be provided by a private firm.
Waste Transfer Site and Recycling Depot
The transfer station and recycling depot is available to Crossfield and Rocky View County residents and is located at 33 Laut Crescent. Environmental 360 Solutions Ltd. (E360S) is the contracted provider responsible for the operations of the Crossfield transfer station and recycling depot.

The Transfer Site and Recycling Depot is located at 33 Laut Crescent. Fees for use of the transfer site are:
- Per bag - to a maximum of five bags: $3
- Half-ton truck load: $25
- Over half-ton truck load: $40
- Appliances (fridge, freezers and water coolers, etc.) and large furniture: $40
- Use of the recycling depot is free.

- Household waste
- Cardboard
- Newspaper
- Mixed paper
- Metal
- Clear glass (no ceramics, light bulbs, mirrors)
- Automotive batteries
- Used engine oil and filters
- Electronic waste (Alberta’s Electronic Recycling Program)
- Alberta Recycling Management Authority has expanded the electronics recycling with a two-year electronics pilot program to include audio visual equipment, telecom, cell phone, electronic gaming equipment and small home appliances.
- Appliances (For fridges, freezers and water coolers, there is a $40 charge for freon removal)
- Grass and leaves (seasonal)
- Christmas trees (seasonal)
- Branches - less than six inches in diameter (No stumps. These are to be placed out with garbage.)
- Cell phones
- Paint and aerosol cans
- Styrofoam
- All plastic recycling materials #1-7
- Food waste

Electronics Recycling
A bin for electronics is available at the Transfer Site for eligible electronics under Alberta's Electronic Recycling Program.
